This is a medical acupuncture treatment which is an extension of traditional acupuncture and as such is best practiced by qualified, insured acupuncture professionals. Cosmetic acupuncture is a non-invasive treatment that involves using acupuncture to improve skin and fight the aging process, offering a preventative alternative to cosmetic surgery and other invasive procedures. Also known as ‘Facial Enhancement Acupuncture’, ‘Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation’ or ‘Facial Revitalisation’.

Treatment organically and naturally helps make the skin look younger, smoother, and healthier, addressing not only signs of aging, but also the skin’s overall health. In my clinic, I take into account the constitutional roots and fundamental principles of Chinese Medicine. I use acupuncture to work internally to optimise your overall health and well -being, while simultaneously enhancing the appearance of your skin and restoring the yin-yang balance in your body

What to expect during a treatment

Following a full consultation, I will begin by giving you full-body and auricular acupuncture treatment before continuing to the facial area, working to re-balance the internal environment to enhance the external through Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory and diagnosis.  By identifying any imbalances in your body, I can target specific acupuncture points in conjunction to enhancing your face, as in TCM theory, whatever is occurring on the inside is what causes the aging.  This procedure promotes a full flow of energy throughout your body, aiming to support the facial acupuncture.

Tiny and painless needles are inserted into your face to puncture the skin, creating wounds referred to as ‘positive microtraumas’.  As your body senses these microtraumas, it goes into repair mode. These tiny punctures stimulate your lymphatic and circulatory system, which work in harmony to deliver nutrients and oxygen to your skin cells to nourish your skin from the inside out.

I start with a general treatment plan, but individual concerns will be discussed.   The procedure aims to even out your complexion, promote your skin’s glow, stimulate collagen and improve elasticity to minimize fine lines and wrinkles.  Sessions often include facial massage and other complementary treatments and appropriate facial products to include facial rolling with jade rollers and facial Gua Sha to enhance circulation and bring a whole freshness to the area.

Cosmetic Acupuncture is mostly non-invasive, apart from the insertion of the fine needles, and does not leave any scarring. The results vary from individual to individual however in my experience have found that after a single session there is usually a noticeable difference, and after a course of acupuncture, clients often have a noticeable glow about their face which people can see and comment on.

I also offer the option of using Celluma LED light therapy (Low-Level Light Therapy) which is clinically proven to be effective for the treatment of wrinkles, acne and pain.

Various treatment packages are available to suit individual requirements
